David Michael Altamirano has exhibited work in group shows in Douglas, Bisbee, and Tucson, Arizona.

His work has been shown at the Cochise College Union Gallery, the University of Arizona Union Gallery, the Freemont house in Tucson, the Bisbee Fine Art and Framing Gallery in Bisbee AZ. and is currently exhibiting his work at the Douglas Art Gallery

David was born and raised in the small border town of Douglas, Arizona. He was a very creative kid growing up and was exposed to art even before he could crawl. In fact, as a child, his mother would hold him in her arms while she painted desert wildlife images at their home. People who know him say, "David was born to paint!"

In 1999, he graduated with honors from Douglas High School. In 2002, David went on to get his Associate's degrees in Art, Communications, and General Education. David also received the "Artist of the Year" award from Cochise College. He then earned his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Arizona.  David works as an art instructor at Cochise College.

He continues to paint from his home studio were he and his family reside in Douglas. You can also see David's published works in the International Book Art Buzz the 2008 Collection.

In David's current works, he invites the viewer to experience a journey through a living and breathing world of color. These desert landscapes and abstracts are very much part of who David really is. His desire to create art and his connection with the land is something that he cherishes deeply. When engaged by his creations, you will find inspirations of nature, tranquility, and spirituality.
